For 13 years Studio Two has handled the branding, marketing and messaging for the Berkshire International Film Festival (BIFFMA). The festival just wrapped a very successful, sold-out 4-day event (you can read about it here). This year when we were working on the festival’s theme we focused on the contribution that audiences make to the efforts of the storytellers and artists. Without an audience, creators are shouting into the wind. BIFFMA has always had a strong commitment to the documentary film community – and in this era of false news, untruths and bald lies, “bearing witness” is a key action we all must take to protect our civilization and the singular voices that have the courage to speak truth to power.
The festival opener is a short film we created that plays before each movie, highlighting this theme, setting the stage for the audience, and illuminating the lead sponsors of the festival. The theme of BIFFMA 2018 is “Bear Witness”.
